i often bog down my messages with jokes and stuff to make it less awkward, but all it does is muck up the clarity and sincerity. it’s always better to just say it, vulnerability for the win
I love when people do this. although I tend to slip into an Orange County pace when I’m nervous or excited (thanks mom!!), I try to make the effort to slow down and be more careful with my words. It also lends itself to being a better listener!
