Other places prefer espresso but me, I like sipping on a big ol cup o joe. Iced coffee is also a delicacy that is not really enjoyed in the same way in other nations.
I love coffee, but I'm no expert, and I don't really have the palate to know if a shop has good espresso, etc My order just depends on if I want something warm and cozy or cold and refreshing, and caffeine is usually a high priority haha I usually like to have a very strong coffee flavor, so I don't like drinks with too much syrup, but if I am in the mood for something sweet I love a miel or spiced maple latte! I also like floral flavors too, although I feel like those often go better with tea (which I also love but don't fully understand lol)
I love coffee. Iced, black, maybe a dash of oatmilk here and there. I drink it to feed my soul a little energy in the morning. Although it 100% in certain cases has gone too far to bleed into the capitalistic culture we live in. Curious to know your thoughts on this “hot take”. This is not a bash on my culinary creatives.💋
the Best drink offered in the espresso world. Been drinking these for many years now and they always hit the spot. I like that I don’t have to commit to holding a hot or cold cup for the next hour+ (I’m a sipper).
a well tuned cortado can give you so much flavor without sweeteners, let you enjoy milk without drinking 13 ounces of it, and you usually get a cute, tiny cup that people comment on
I met Erin (@RIOTGRRRL) and Jake (@SLOWDAZZLE) last year after I started using PI.FYI—we organized a meetup before a Jonathan Richman show and immediately clicked over our shared taste in music and similar sensibilities. We started hanging out a lot and had some great times together. I’ve also gotten to know many of their friends, who are all really cool. Erin and Jake started dating a couple of months after the three of us became friends, but our group chat still pops off. Their friendship has meant a lot to me, especially since moving to NYC in 2023, and I really appreciate having them in my life.
