no more beating dead horses when it comes to movies, tv shows, etc. the movie doesn't need a sequel. the show doesn't need to go on for 27 seasons. we need more stories that are written with an ending in mind from the beginning.

YESSSS it often REALLY shows when they do drag it on and I’m tired of creative endeavors just being for a cash grab especially in the film industry, obviously I understand why, but I just love good art and remakes, sequels, etc. Often dont have the original in mind and only have the MONEY in mind, it makes me sad and like someone on here already said, it can definitely devalue the original

Agreed. 2 to 3 seasons seems good. 16 to 32 hours of anything is plenty.

i hope that the last season of 'the boys' is successful and good, because if it is, it could lead to more of this type of tv show. 5 seasons seems like the perfect amount to get the story told in a satisfying way.

seriously. seems like all movies now are sequels, prequels, live actions, etc. dragging it out makes the original less valuable in my opinion

@DRACULA I find so frequently that the story doesn’t need it, there’s fluff filler extending everything. Like does Jurassic world: dominion really need 2 hours 26 minutes to tell you that dinosaur genes shouldn’t have been revived?

@CHLOE_ see the issue there is that jurassic world dominion shouldn't have been made at all... there are lots of 3 hour movies that are good, just stay away from commercial monstrosities lol. one of my fave movies of all time is over 5 hours long!

IMO Last of Us season finale was boring and anti-climatic—idk something about the way the story was laid out just seems incomplete. Hate the fact they’re milking the franchise. Tv shows are so short

What is up with TV shows lately? We now have to wait years between seasons (which is upsetting but also they're working so hard so I can't even blame them) and then we get 9 episodes that are like 30 minutes each!!! Bring back real TV. I'm talking 20+ episode seasons that are like 40ish minutes per episode. I'm talking Once Upon a Time. I love having a lot to watch, so I do enjoy 7 episodes that are each like an hour long, but I miss TV SHOW tv shows. Anyway, I will still be watching shows with seasons that are a total of like 3 hours long but I will forever miss old TV.

re-upping this rec now that the series finale dropped: this show is a masterpiece. i often see asks on here along the lines of "how do i stay hopeful in the face of the destruction of the world around me," and i am not shitting you at all when i say that - for well over a year now - this show and its ideas have been an enormous part of how i still find it in myself to have hope despite it all. it is a dark, brutal show, but its brutality exists to underscore the show's absolutely unshakable faith in the indomitability of the human spirit, the fragility of tyranny, and the revolutionary power of love. do not get scared away by the "star wars" of it all - if you have ever struggled to stay the course when faced with the weight of the world's horrors, you absolutely need to watch this show. it tells a timeless story that is essential for our time.

doing stuff by yourself

best thing you can do for yourself is become extremely comfortable with being alone and doing stuff by yourself. at a young age i forced myself to get comfortable with that and now it's my default state-- i LOVE doing stuff by myself. my coworker is a person who literally cannot go places by herself and i have been trying to help her get more comfortable doing things solo because it's very freeing. everyone should be happy to go do stuff by themselves, it's lovely!

i will never get over polyvore shutting down. i used it obsessively and had hundreds of outfits made on it and mine were ARTFUL not like the stuff people say they saw on wattpad with like skinny jeans and converse and shit like mine were gorgeous. and then they shut down and i wasn't able to back up any of my stuff so i lost it all. HEARTBREAKINGGGGG
