hi! when not at college and furthering my education and coughing up every penny I own, I work on breaks at a non-profit thrift store that helps ppl with intellectual and developmental disabilities. and lemme tell you, nothing pisses me off more than ppl stealing from said thrift store. like in a way I get it: i myself am poor and according to government documents in the lower class and blah blah fuck big corporations I get it and lowkey support it. however when u are stealing from a local non-profit that benefits the community, provides cheap goods to those who might not be able to afford brand-new stuff, and also supports the environment by pushing ppl to buy secondhand instead of brand-new it rlly fucks up the system and endangers the operation. bc as I said, I get it. sometimes u can't afford shit or want to throw a middle finger to the system, but literally go steal from target or goodwill (actual lowkey fucked thrift store) or something instead. this is a LOCAL NON-PROFIT THRIFT STORE THAT WORKS TO SUPPORT THE LOCAL COMMUNITY! prices getting jacked up make these places more inaccessible to ppl who need it bc of ppl like this and also resellers/scalpers are kind of a problem but thats a rant for another time. like this summer alone i have seen 8 ppl get away with stealing from here and it's not like we can do anything abt it. idk maybe someone will come at me bc "even non-profit corporations hurt the little guy so steal even harder" but idk it just feels a bit fucked to steal from a place inherently using money to help others in your immediate community.
