I was at the exact same point in my life as her; the catholic school, wanting to live above my means, shitty boys, the list goes on. Saoirse is a long time favourite of mine, and of course, Greta’s directorial debut. I bawled like a baby.

This movie is home to me, more than any house I lived in or any particular set of memories. I was about 6 years old when I first saw it, and already enjoyed writing little stories and stapling the pages together, but Jo March was the first person/character I’d ever seen who was a “real” writer and seeing her felt like making sense of my life (yes I was v dramatic lol). I’ve watched it probably at least once a year since then, relating more strongly to different sisters or characters in different phases of my life and always struck with something new from it each time.

I really hate how dependent activism has become on social media. If you are like me and try to stay off ig etc as much as possible - let the one thing you do for Palestine be talking to your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles etc. The mainstream media is sooo terrible and that is what the older generations are consuming. Talk to the older people in your life and make sure they have an accurate understanding of what is going on in Palestine.

Macy Gray does no wrong but this track gets me bouncing around the place like a toddler probably because I’ve been dancing to it since then.
