Iβm new to the legend that is Jason Molina, having discovered him through the announcement of a tribute covers album dedicated to him. But I have fallen fast in love with his work. His songs can be seen as similar in tone to elliot smith, sparklehorse, sun kil moon. but molina has something so special about his songwriting and voice, he carries a depth of emotion like no other and creates such a mythical and visceral world through his songwriting. these songs have found a home in the shadowy weird vunerable corners of my southern gothic loving heart. must listen for anyone that like sad music or folk music or anything of the sort. now that iβve found him i will be keeping him close to my heart, and he will be inspiring my songwriting forever.
