i highly recommend:  “the cameraman’s revenge” (1912), la petite fille et son chat (1899), and the disturbing story of the dancing pig (1907).these videos project me back to another time and make me realize just how similar we are to past generations, yet so different. plots and gimmicks are intergenerational, styles are not. i recommend watching while a little high and with an open mind.

This Youtube channel is a collection of VHS and digital camcorder footage from years past- a lot of walking/driving videos and tours of shopping malls and movie theaters as little time capsules of the era. They're fun if you're feeling nostalgic or are just interested in seeing how things were way back when. I linked 'Christmas Shopping at a Mall in 1993' above but there are many choices like "Vegas in the 60s", "Mcdonald's dining room in 1987" and "Going to the movies in 2004" to choose from.

Absolutely batshit viral video from before Youtube in the early 2000s. Its incredibly dissonant to listen to, so I figured I'd only watch for a few minutes but I watched the entire thing and then started from the beginning. Amazing how nonchalant and chill all the people are. The sound design goes from grating to hilarious the longer you watch it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUmmxW7Ksc8&t=3s

i started hand-poke tattooing full-time in october after starting in 2020 when i realized literally anything can be a tattoo, and i cannot recommend dipping your toe into the culture and community of diy tattooing enough. the friends i’ve made who also love off-beat designs and scrappy, fun tattoos are pushing boundaries on what tattoos can be, and i am so incredibly grateful to have these people in my life. i have yet to step foot in a traditional tattoo shop and i thank god for that (love trad style, hate the largely macho culture). i’ll try to narrow down my recs to 5 within brooklyn: @stabs_bylili @julessportif @5_htpblanketsong @coolfriendtattoos.png @dastardly_child (and myself i guess lol @hidden_object__), but please just look for yourself, there are so many cool people doing cool things

young hugh grant and peter capaldi star in this weird ass late 80s british movie based on a 1911 novel by bram stoker (also wrote dracula) in which an archeologist (capaldi) discovers the skeleton of a giant worm creature which is featured in the town’s mythology. while investigating some local disappearances it becomes apparent that the ancient worm might be to blame and that a mysterious lady might be summoning it with virgin sacrifices. crazy cool early green screen,  awesome costumes, low quality creatures and acting, what’s not to love?
