Nothing annoys me more about the American culture than the lack of enthusiasm. If I invite you to go somewhere and your answer is “sure” or “why not”, I’m taking it back. I do not wanna be surrounded by indifferent people. It’s unworthy.

couldn't agree more. almost a year ago now, when i started college, i wanted nothing more than to be a part of a club at my college. ever since covid hit, club activity had reached near zero campus-wide, so i sought to revitalize it. and revitalize it i did - we became the largest club on campus in under a month. i hung posters, talked to random people, ran ads on insta for $10 a week and got 1.8k people to view those ads a week. i put on weekly presentations on filmography, and how we could learn to craft short films, slowly honing our craft. we had the team to do it. the club died after 1 semester due to inactivity and petty drama.

You feel so comfortable and invested in a moment that you can’t help but to outwardly express it. Inadvertently implying how good you are feeling to everyone around you, as well as to yourself. Accepting the world as it is and feeling welcomed. It’s a beautiful thing when people are often enthusiastic and exude positivity. That is the goal for a lot of us and to see someone live it frequently, live well, is admirable.

it honestly irks my little soul seeing how dispassionate people are. what happened to making your hobbies your entire personality, listening to music until you annoy your neighbors, ranting about the silly things you love immediately after meeting someone, or simply being open to trying out something you're even slightly interested in.
i feel like people get more copy n paste as time goes on, and i'm not saying these people aren't unique they just never try to explore their uniqueness.

a big pet peeve I have is people complaining about not having community or only having “party friends” etc BUT are they inviting their existing friends or acquaintances to go out for dinner, go thrifting, watch tv, book club, people watch, day trip, mulberry picking? no, they are not. are they introducing their friends to each other? also not. i hate to be a clichĂ© sometimes you gotta put some work into having the relationships you long for. plus: you’re part of the problem. AND have some appreciation for the friends you have instead of focusing so much in what you don’t.
