Nothing annoys me more about the American culture than the lack of enthusiasm. If I invite you to go somewhere and your answer is “sure” or “why not”, I’m taking it back. I do not wanna be surrounded by indifferent people. It’s unworthy.

couldn't agree more. almost a year ago now, when i started college, i wanted nothing more than to be a part of a club at my college. ever since covid hit, club activity had reached near zero campus-wide, so i sought to revitalize it. and revitalize it i did - we became the largest club on campus in under a month. i hung posters, talked to random people, ran ads on insta for $10 a week and got 1.8k people to view those ads a week. i put on weekly presentations on filmography, and how we could learn to craft short films, slowly honing our craft. we had the team to do it. the club died after 1 semester due to inactivity and petty drama.

ENTHUSIASM

You feel so comfortable and invested in a moment that you can’t help but to outwardly express it. Inadvertently implying how good you are feeling to everyone around you, as well as to yourself. Accepting the world as it is and feeling welcomed. It’s a beautiful thing when people are often enthusiastic and exude positivity. That is the goal for a lot of us and to see someone live it frequently, live well, is admirable.

leaning into things

just went to a touristy carnevale thing in italy that everyone said would be lame and basic well it was not. i love having fun in a sea of strangers. i love seeing other people happy. i dont care that its basic, i like to lean into things and enjoy it being ambivalent to everything unless its super niche and undiscovered is overrated and closes you off from so many things that are good, easy, and at your reach. being happy and having fun is cool

it’s my dream

When I was a kid, I had a homework assignment that asked me what my biggest dream was, and I wrote, 'to spend a whole day on the internet.' That didn’t age well for obvious reasons, but here, that feeling was rekindled.
