I like to trick myself into taking care of my heart by making it a little game. This is good because: 1. it takes some creativity to come up with ~40 minutes worth of dance moves/aerobics/general flailing about 2. it is gentle on my sometimes negative relationship with exercise :) 3. It is a pleasant way to listen to music 4. it is a no-phone zone 📵

running has always been go-to cardio for me but I’ve never appreciated it, always just did it to say I worked out. until recently !! I decided to enjoy it and I guess that mindset switch was what I needed to not rush through it, to run through the pain, and have fun listening to my playlists, run farther. it has become rewarding in a way I never thought of running as being

or perhaps audiobooks. just chill out and enjoy the process, it doesn't actually have to be high energy constantly and it's been a nice revelation to have. especially good for longer runs

And then when you’ve made a few random connections this way (and there’s not some blaring reason why they’d hate each other) invite them all for a park hang or lil dinner, even if it seems sorta early in the friendships! Being the person that brings other people together can make you feel and come off more well connected than you might feel, and before ya know it, you’ve started a friend group! You’re gonna do great, honey! People like ya!
