Since i was 16 ive been doing this thing where I have one main playlist called āCurrentlyā and I add anything Iām vibing with Then when I start getting sick of songs/want a fresh start, I copy paste the songs and file them away into a new āSeasonā But theyāre not actual seasons, theyāre more like metaphorical seasons. Some seasons span a year, some just a few days. Some symbolize change or a series of events Of course I have some separate genre based playlists as well, but for me this works perfectly as an alternative to monthly Playlists
I make playlists every month or every season, depending on my mood. Itās nice to go back and listen to stuff I was into my freshmen year of college, or during the pandemic. I add songs to the playlist that my friends send me or I hear in movies or tv shows, along with songs I just love and want to be hearing. Like a little time capsule
i always avoided it bc the idea of 12+ playlists a year seemed excessive and i wouldnāt be tempted to go back to them. but seasonally is something i can rock with.
This is specifically for NYC people. In Ridgewood Queens there is a hole in the wall high quality chocolate shop. Itās run by an eccentric and amazing man named Constantine and his wife. He will talk your ear off for a half an hour about āthe benefitsā of chocolate and how itās a panacea for pretty much everything. How big chocolate gives away most of the cocoa butter to the cosmetic industry. Heāll also talk to you about how he asks ChatGPT about chocolate and itās wrong a lot of the time. Youāll then buy a bar even though itās small and $10. But you will go home and have a little piece after dinner and never taste chocolate the same way againā¦
If we click on a rec or ask to comment, like I'm doing now, it would be great that when I go back, it doesn't send me back to the top of the page but rather to the place where I was scrolling previously.
