I tend to do genre and season-based playlists more than monthly. It’s less work than monthly and easier to find stuff later, I find.

Since i was 16 ive been doing this thing where I have one main playlist called ā€˜Currently’ and I add anything I’m vibing with Then when I start getting sick of songs/want a fresh start, I copy paste the songs and file them away into a new ā€˜Season’ But they’re not actual seasons, they’re more like metaphorical seasons. Some seasons span a year, some just a few days. Some symbolize change or a series of events Of course I have some separate genre based playlists as well, but for me this works perfectly as an alternative to monthly Playlists

I make playlists every month or every season, depending on my mood. It’s nice to go back and listen to stuff I was into my freshmen year of college, or during the pandemic. I add songs to the playlist that my friends send me or I hear in movies or tv shows, along with songs I just love and want to be hearing. Like a little time capsule

i always avoided it bc the idea of 12+ playlists a year seemed excessive and i wouldn’t be tempted to go back to them. but seasonally is something i can rock with.

This is specifically for NYC people. In Ridgewood Queens there is a hole in the wall high quality chocolate shop. It’s run by an eccentric and amazing man named Constantine and his wife. He will talk your ear off for a half an hour about ā€œthe benefitsā€ of chocolate and how it’s a panacea for pretty much everything. How big chocolate gives away most of the cocoa butter to the cosmetic industry. He’ll also talk to you about how he asks ChatGPT about chocolate and it’s wrong a lot of the time. You’ll then buy a bar even though it’s small and $10. But you will go home and have a little piece after dinner and never taste chocolate the same way again…

Ceramic pans are unfortunately not very long lasting, once the coating is damaged you can’t really fix it. Most of these pans also lose their nonstick qualities after a while. I suggest investing in a carbon steel or cast iron pan, which can be re-seasoned if damaged. Or stainless steel which is pretty indestructible as far as I can tell. These are lifelong pans!

I did it this morning, meditated, read a short story, watched the sun rise, and then got to work!
