Schuyler was a mentor and friend of Trinidad, very long, very moving poems that feel very grounded, would also recommend the late Ed Smith (Punk Rock is Cool for the End of the World), who is irreverent yet lovely.
Schuyler in general is fantastic as are the people he influenced (David Trinidad and I believe to some extent Trinidad’s contemporary Ed Smith) but he has such a particular control over form and space here
Super well written and has been a consistent favorite of mine for years. If you like Kerouac you’ll also like the other beat poets probably. Allen Ginsberg‘s poem Kaddish is in my opinion the best thing he ever wrote. I think it beats howl.
so much to talk about, the sunglasses, the scarf, the fresh baguette and coffee, the always lovely cafe setting. I think this is the most swag ever captured on camera I aspire to be at this level
alright hear me out: carbonation and coffee with a squeeze of orange shouldn’t work, but it does. Been making them daily and i feel a lot better in the morning each time i do
