Authentic Irish Pub on the Danforth. Honestly just warm, communal, inviting vibe that is the perfect place to down a couple Guinness (best pour in the city). Offer a good range of beers and cocktails, as well as food from Allen’s next door slaps. My favourite part are the consistently energized live music performances. A lot of the acts that play the Cameron House also play Noonan’s. They also have traditional folk sessions on Sundays/Tuesdays and an open mic on Monday. Blog.TO ain’t rate it the best Irish Pub in the six for nothin.

look im not a huge club guy, so I found my happy place at this tiny bar downtown called Mr. Dooley‘s where they pour one of the most delicious Guinness’s I’ve ever tasted and an older Irish man played live music all night. it was just lovely and warm and I could speak with people I didn’t know - just so relaxing and fun and nice, more wholesome for me :)))

most eclectic / chaotic bar I have ever been to. it is not vibe-y or photographable Its incredibly divey in a non-intentional or self aware way but it’s also not scary or anything like some of the other weird ass bars on bloor The Instagram feed is awesome it’s just random clips of people singing karaoke at the bar top or selfies of the owner. Also the owner is incredibly sweet and will fully commit to whatever fit she is wearing and is like the nicest woman I’ve ever met. Long live Toronto style

There are so many, but here are my faves: Cambridge: Grendel's Den - Right in Harvard Square. It's been there for 50+ years and the vibe is it's a bar that has been there for 50+ years. Something about that is very charming to me. A plus is that Pinocchio's Pizza is pretty much across the street, so you can get a late night slice or three after drinks. Plough & Stars - A favorite of many. A very cozy vibe and great live music. State Park - 70s basement vibes. Wood paneling, a bunch of cool/weird neon signs and vintage lamps, and great food. Also pool and I think shuffleboard Daedalus - Maybe more of a restaurant, but I love it. Also in Harvard Square Somerville: Highland Kitchen - Incredible food and a small bar. Mostly a sit-down place, but they have good drinks too. The Burren - One of the best places in the Boston area and maybe my favorite. The best live music around. There are usually some Irish/folk/instrumental bands playing in the front room and some larger acts in the back room. Saloon - A speakeasy, so to speak. Great drinks. Olde Magoun's Saloon - Great spot for food/drink if you're near Magoun Square Bronwyn - German bierhall with great food

Annoyed about having to hold your empty alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage at a standing-room event? Tuck that sucker between your feet. If someone comes towards you, just angle them away from the empty can using a step forward with the hind leg. clap freely mes amis

Oh man I could talk about Lucinda Williams for a while. Most I think were turned onto her from Car Wheels On A Gravel Road (an equally good if not superior record). That said… you want gut-wrenching? You want country croon that’ll tear on your six string heart? You got it with S.O.W. Favourites: Six Blocks Away, He Never Got Enough Love, Sweet Old World, Pineola, Sidewalks of the City.
