- having friends with good taste send you shit or tell you to listen to shit
- going to the discog of an artist you like and listening to an album you haven’t checked before, especially artists new to you
- my dad is old and has incredible taste in 60’s-80’s stuff so he’ll send me shit randomly or i’ll ask him

such a great way to find new music/artists if you’re looking to expand your palette. i’ve found so much great music from all over the world.
It’s music curated by people, which is so much better than the algorithm spotify has been feeding me lately imo. It’s great, it’s really great.
And don’t get me wrong, i still ride for spotify. NTS radio is my wave at the moment though, it’s similar to bandcamp weekly if you’re familiar with that too

majestic casual — i‘ve always liked the songs that play in zara (hahaha) so i’d type the lyrics on google or youtube. that‘s when i started discovering majestic casual, and that opened me up to a whole new world of artists and other music platforms (cercle, boiler room, etc.)
spotify — i listen to my Discover Weekly and my favourite artists’ radios. i also check if brands, groups/communities, festivals, people (actually anything under the sun!) i like have playlists, like Oliver Peoples, Unknwn.Mnl, Sporty & Rich, FIFA, etc. i’m also a fan of all kinds of genres, so i get to discover a lot of old and new music. i make monthly playlists and listen to the suggestions that are prompted by the app
music festivals — i follow a lot of festivals like wonderfruit in thailand, fuji rock in japan, glastonbury in the uk, primavera in spain, etc. and i check out the artists
parents — my parents, especially my dad has good taste in music. my dad, especially when we’re kids, would play a lot of his favourites which me and my sisters enjoyed. it’s become so reminiscent of our good childhood ☺️
