although it's in spanish, it's a really really good research paper that pioneered the concept of 'pan-latinamericanism'. it talks about how we must embrace that the borders that define and divide latinamerica aren't real, all whilst keeping indigenous groups at the forefront of the discussion. very very interesting

My gossiping queen. Born in Colombia, while she was in her teens and 20's, she became an advocate for Colombian independence in the 1800's. As a part of her endorsement to the cause, she would do acts of democratization for education, since having access to it was so difficult, especially with children, even though she wasn't one of the authorized people to deliver education back then. Soon she would grow up to become a spy, helping to instruct other women as well. She would be executed at 22 years old. Her last words being: "indolent town! How different would your luck be, if only you knew the price of freedom! But it's not too late: I'm a woman and I'm young, yet I have plenty of courage to suffer death-and a thousand more deaths-Don't forget this example...miserable town, I pity you. One day, you'll have more dignity!... I die to defend the rights of my country".
