i love getting my little kitchen scale out, measuring my matcha powder, sifting the clumps out and whisking it until it's the optimal amount of frothiness. something very grounding about starting the day with this level intention in making a drink i'll finish in probably less time than it took to make it ✨

learning to make an expert iced matcha latte had long been on my list, and i cracked the code about two years ago. the catch is, getting good matcha powder and working with water at the right temperature!
i whisk my matcha with a little bit of homemade vanilla syrup or local honey and water that’s 176 degrees Fahrenheit, gradually adding in a little more water at a time. once i have about a shot’s worth, i pour over ice and top with the milk of my choice. if i’m feeling extra domestic, i might even make my own almond or cashew milk!

I think :) when I finally become responsible enough to get a dog :) I will name her Dahla. As in Princess Dahla from the 1960s Pink Panther movie. And my dog Dahla will be very very gorgeous, refined, and distinguished… She will be an Italian greyhound.
