"flowers fading" by dear nora

snagged this album after listening to Dear Nora's Katy Davidson guesting on an old episode of Time Crisis. "flowers fading" in particular has this mellow, humble, grateful vibe that is addictive. "woke up from a dream about Lady Gaga / then took a whiff of my coffee beans" is a great way to open a song.

We’re Not Here To Be Loved

Fleshwater’s debut album, and one that has been in my head since I first discovered it a few months ago. Very soft-grunge, post-hardcore alternative rock/nu gaze. Very emo and a bit dream-like. Their songs sort of blend into one another in some really interesting ways, so it’s a great one to enjoy in one sitting if that’s how you enjoy listening, and it’s a relatively short album too. Some highlights for me are Linda Claire Enjoy, and Closet. Kiss the Ladder is great too.

sloane_shark This method helps with notebooks that don’t naturally lay flat! It isn’t a perfect system, but it works pretty well. I like *using tools* even if those tools are humble clips.

Doengjang cream, stir-fried pasta

Doing a Molly Baz move and stir-frying some elbow macaronis I cooked awhile ago then doing an Eric Kim move and tossing the crispy pasta in a fermented, creamy sauce. edit: pretty amazing, folks

Traveler’s notebook

I have tried many a notebook, and what drives me crazy is the mish mash of daily lists, journal entries, and random plans/quotes/poem drafts. The separation gives me a peace of mind. The accesories are, unfortunately, very fun. Huge tip, use large, bendy paper clips to make this or, frankly, any notebook lay flat.
