huge rec for this new Zia Anger film.
saw it this weekend and haven't been able to get it out of my head.
odessa young kills it. the cinematography is incredible. i feel like i related way too much.
reminds me a lot of Mia Hansen-Lรธve's Bergman Island, in a low-fi sort of way. the plights of becoming an artist, finding your voice, and breaking the fourth wall in the most epic way.

saw it last night and i was speechless. i know films like this can feel like homework, because of they are positioned as "important", but nobody makes movies like Jonathan Glazer ("Birth" and "Under The Skin" are incredible) and i do think this film is really important. i felt sick to my stomach and i can't get it out of my head.

Saw this in a small theater earlier this year and it was unlike anything ever. I had seen it multiple times before, but being in a space with strangers watching this painted fever dream makes it so much better. It was so hard to not quote the entire film.

saw this collab at the met the other week. it's not a favorite or even a single painting, but the intentional placement added so much and each work was the better for it.
@ curators, we should bring back unique installations in galleries. ๐ค
