ceramics can be pretty expensive but using some air dry clay and making some pots/mugs/bowls/trinkets is super fun! and relaxing as well i just finished doing a project last week with some nesting ones!! also just didn’t put any pressure on myself for them to look a certain way

especially when you try it out with friends. i recommend getting some cheap air dry clay and acrylic paint and creating little creatures and clowns and trinket trays. whatever you sclupt takes a day or two to dry, so you not only have a new thing you made with your own hands, but something to look forward to as you wait to paint it. it get's your brain off of the ick for at least a little bit. Here’s some stuff my friends and I made!

i used to hate production pottery bc it felt boring and stress inducing to me. now strangely, hammering out 10 mugs is a delicious indulgence, pulling handles, listening to music, watching a good movie. reminds me of knitting and how necessary it felt.

In the middle of my first. Not good at it yet, but striving to one day be competent. I never knew how complicated and involved it can get. Also, something great about giving up on perfection because you can’t really make it perfect. But you can fix pieces more often than you may think, so I’m telling myself to not be precious about my work.

The internet is making my brain rot!!! Lately, I've been very mindful of my purchases and how I can minimize my consumptions as an individual. I like my wired headphones. I like the running shoes I've had for years. And I love my 2004 Honda CRV. Learning to be happy with the things I have.
