I am someone who struggles with doing “simple” tasks that are required for your personal upkeep. These tasks include, but are not limited to: drinking water, brushing my teeth, making my bed, doing something that I enjoy, taking my medicine, etc. While I am physically capable of doing these things, I have a mental block preventing me from completing them. I heard of this app called Finch, where you take care of a little bird by doing tasks for yourself. You get rewarded for doing things that benefit you! You can dress them up, decorate their home, and even add other friends and send them words of encouragement throughout the day! The app is also a good resource for breathing exercise, yoga exercises, and other exercises that allow you to vent and practice naming your emotions (something that I struggle with). I have been consistently taking care of my Finch (and myself) for 42 days straight now!
