As it turns out i am a toddler just fascinated by shapes and colours and everything is more boring in black and white if you struggle with being on your phone a lot and doom scrolling, Iāve found that setting my phone up to go grayscale/black and white at certain times really helped me!
on apple itās on shortcuts and on android I think itās modes&routines (?) Give it a try! I hope this helps someone š«¶š»
having your phone be black and white makes every app 10x less addictive. i turn my phone on & off black and white depending on what iām doing and thereās an easy way to switch back and forth in settings by triple clicking the side button: accessibility > general > accessibility shortcut > color filters and then you can go to color filters (just search it) and choose grayscale. i set mine at ~90% intensity so i can still see a hint of color. i love looking up from my phone and thinking āwow, the world is so colorfulā
It helps me keep my phone usage to a minimum while focusing (at uni or tedious tasks). Itās like muting your tv. When I do have to use it, itās just way less stimulating. And my time on there is absolutely for essential stuff, without having to remind myself so. Iāve set a shortcut on my iPhone as 3x power button clicks. Boom! greyscale. It kinda works as a physical reminder to focus as well.
Small thing thatās just helped me spend less time on my phone is switching everything to grayscale so itās less fun to look at and itās helped a lot. Makes my phone feel more like a tool and not an extension of my body. itās somewhere in the accessibility menu on iPhone
I love just refreshing it every time I get on this app and looking at everyoneās new recs or asks. I love that it isnāt too high traffic and you can contribute a little to each conversation :)
