Very surreal viewing experience with myself and one dude being the only solitary perverts in our small theater packed to the gills with people—couples, pairs of women, and a front row of college aged girls having a ladies’ night. They were talking so loudly that people had to yell at them to shut up. (After the movie I heard one of them say “I think it was straight middle aged freaky not actually freaky. She’s a straight middle aged woman in power who wants to be dominated by the man and that’s the only thing. And she was a terrible person the entire time!”) I was blushing furiously the whole time and shrinking into my seat and my jaw definitely dropped multiple times. Very cerebral and psychosexually loaded movie that deals primarily in restraint to explore control vs vulnerability…

Notes on a Scandal

This film is, to me, perfection. Lesbian adjacent stalking, huge focus on real estate and the two GOATiest GOATS- Cate B and Judi D- going head to head at the speed of hysteria. This is what I hoped I was getting when I decided to make a home in London (every part except an affair with a fifteen year old boy. Not good!) Not only do I love the aesthetic- a kind of drab cashmere cowl-neck with a hippie skirt, the sense that everyone is ten degrees too cold, tons of crown moulding- but I love any film about our obsessive cultural interest in catching mothers stepping outside of bounds, and what that punitive glee says about us. Watch for the complex social message, stay to see a young Juno Temple whimper-cry “I’M FAT AS FUCK, MUM!" (she’s most definitely not, but she plays it perfectly.)

Everyone hated this movie but i think it's an unappreciated piece of art and people are just neflix impatient / looking for comforting stuff….the trauma porn thing i don't get,these things happened, did they not? so what are they supposed to do, ignore it? that's not why i like it , just showing the struggles ...Malcolm x isn't called trauma porn? his dad was killed by the kkk... should they leave that out? fuck the haters,i've always been a Marilyn fan, fascinated at humans as inspiring art, like Brando or James Dean... didn't know much about her personally, but found the movie and music to be a beautiful work of art and full of interesting strong philosophical questions & statement.just so bored with the modern posturing. i hear a self appointed inquisitor grilling something mildly inoffensive & all i hear is a salem puritan accuser explaining why such and such witch should be burned or why such and such books should be burned. Because we're modern we think we're somehow beyond those instincts, but we are certainly not. i want progress, i'm just frustrated that the fight for equality and justice gets often hijacked by such thinking.

disney channel stole my identity

Disney channel stole an idea that me and my friend had at 14 and turned it into a wildly popular tv show. Background: we had a YouTube channel. Anne & Austin. We went to a Natasha bedingfield concert and loved the opener. Made a video about him. He was like… not famous. But this was 2012 ok it was a different time and it happened to be the era of “living room tours” and musicians doing pop ups in weird places. His management reached out. They had seen our video and wanted to do a living room pop up concert with us. So they come to my house we invite the whole school. They took pictures. we Made it into the yearbook. It was cool. about a year or so later a tv show drops on Disney that sounds similar to Anne & Austin. Weird similarities in the characters to us. austin posts a fb status about it as a joke. The manager reaches out and admits that in his free time he pitches shows to Disney and nickolodean… and that he used photos of us and our YouTube videos to pitch a show to Disney. THEY PICKED IT UP. So it WAS based on us. But we were 15 and didnt know about suing people so here we are !!! Anyway Disney… yall owe us big time
