@ODETTE dont worry, i mean it was originally a tweet but its become a daily mindfulness practice for me. keep it to yourself, its still fun that way <3
😳✋🏻hear me out🤚🏻😳 sometimes our dreams are no longer a source of motivation or inspiration and sometimes we cling so hard to them that we cause ourselves a lot of mental anguish and disappointment. We attach our identity to things like getting our dream job and when we don’t get the job our sense of self collapses.
Lately I‘ve been thinking a lot about the Jenny Holzer phrase, “Protect me from what I want,” and how it can be so freeing to let desire drop away to remember the things you already have. Such as innate worthiness as a human being regardless of the dream you couldn’t obtain 🫶🏻
Currently telling myself that every good drama and romcom film starts with the character in the absolute pits!
The only thing dragging me through life right now is discipline and fear of academic failure. whoopee!
"’The Will to be Dreary’ is a morose little imp which whispers to us that something which we know would be fun would be too much trouble, will take too much time, is too expensive, and probably wouldn't be as amusing after all as just now you think it would be. Now don’t listen to that voice. Tune it out.”
seriously, what a beautiful thing. i just emerged from one, oh a warm fountain of clean water. it's a real luxury. and a nice oil or lotion and a facial moisturiser. clean pyjamas. what a rejuvenating and lovely thing.
people often spend too much money on things they can make with patience, for example any single panel of wood used for any need like a shelf. u can pick up a peice of wood from loads of places and just varnish it/paint it however u want. dont fall for predatory consumerism !!!1 but carpentery
