As an 18 year old girl, I don't really see 25 as weird and old. There's probably less of a gap than you think there is. If you're chatty and friendly there shouldn't be any issues. Ask about more than just college or sports. You've got this!
i wouldnt say im old old but im at the cusp or genz/millennial- more so cause my siblings area all older but i appreciate the positive reassurance⨠i am indeed a child
not the chattiest but im by no means cold hearted
*and* from my late-30ās perspectiveāgoing through my own changes and second guessing myselfāI simply must lol. 23 is so young. If I asked this question Iām sure someone in their 40ās/50ās would laugh too. Change is always daunting and it can be hard no matter what, but ātoo oldā is fake. Do what you want to do, there are no rules!
Our culture of youth obsessed social media can make it seem like people, particularly women, are old and decrepit and your life is over by 30. Im 26 and I feel like Iām just starting my life. I said the same thing five years ago and Iāll probably say it again. Aging under capitalism can feel like a doomsday clock, if you havenāt accomplished something by a certain age you lose the opportunity forever. But life goes on, there is no ānormalā age to do anything. itās never too late. Iām sure this all sounds pretty rich coming from a 26 year old lol. I think itās important to foster childlike curiosity and optimism while trying to avoid the alluring cynicism and arrogance that can come with adulthood. There are 20-year-olds that act 40 and 40-year-olds that act 20. No one knows what theyāre doing some people are just better at hiding it
i went to community college, worked for a year, went to a 4 year university, took a break for my mental health and worked for a year, finished school, was unemployed for a year, now i finally have a big girl job at 26 and i still feel like a child. it's whatever don't worry about it just do your thing. don't force yourself to do stuff you're not ready for and don't hold yourself back if you're ready to move on. Just do your thang
Love the miles of rolling grass too. Look close and breathe it in. Once you look close you can see each little part of the whole picture. There's something beautiful about the strong roots of the grass, the animals that hide in it, and the way it looks while the wind blows through. It's hypnotizing.
