Emma has long been one of my favourite Austins, and although the adaptation is not the most faithful to the source material (looking at you Harriet and Jane Fairfax), it remains my favourite adaptation too. I find that a lot of the time when Austen is translated onto the screen directors forget to include her humour, and this film does an excellent job of capturing the comedy in the story whilst still creating the classic romantic Austen feel. Visually the film is also amazingly done; the costuming is spot on, and there are so many absolutely stunning shots peppered through the film! Overall I would say this version of Emma does a great job of capturing the humanity in the story, and provides a perfect contended viewing experience. :)

This is my favorite movie of all time. I make all of my friends watch it (they’re not as obsessed with it as I am). The film looks beautiful and has one of the best soundtracks ever. This movie Definitely makes me Giggle And Kick My Feet.

Is this a good movie? No, not really. The plot is surprisingly confusing for its genre, the woman in charge of Austenland is running what’s basically a psychosexual torture compound in corsets, and overall it just doesn’t come together. Luckily, Jennifer Coolidge is on set and just speaking when the spirit moves her. Clearly unscripted but with unbelievable timing, character work, etc., sometimes even when she’s off screen (!), she’s easily 80% of the delight to be drawn from the movie even though she’s probably only in 40% of it. The other character actors also put in delightful performances - especially James Callis as the resident dandy - and there are some good bits outside of Jennifer Coolidge. But she’s the real star of the show and worth the price of admission on her own.

I've been making my own at home a lot lately, but I wanna level up my chai game - I feel like my recipe is missing something. Anyone got any ideas on how to make it better?

you can get them brand new or find them in mostly perfect condition second hand on sites like ebay, and I love them so so much!!! they work like a ring-binder crossed with a wallet, and you can get all kinds of inserts for them. my favourite thing about them is how customisable they are; no two filofaxes are the same!

it's not a very niche thing to do but one of my favourite genres of snack is cheese + random food. I'm particularly fond of cheese and apple or cheese and a digestive biscuit, but the possible combinations are endless! it's always fun to get experimenting and try out new mixes, I'd really recommend giving it a go :)
