I don't have the cash or the space to buy these things, but I love reading them. My local library stocks new art books every week and I check out all of them. Even if it's not my thing, I can flip through it in ten minutes and feel like I did a good deed for my brain.

-it's (mostly) free -low stakes, u can change books if u don't like them and just borrow another one! -gets me out of a reading slumps bc i have a deadline to read them instead of just being able to allow them to collect dust on my bookshelf forever -supports one of the few remaining free third spaces -finding paragraphs someone else underlined and imagining the person based on that -that hot pisces librarian that looks like german michael pitt and wears dress pants in the middle of summer. that's just my local library sorry

A space where you can pick a bunch of books (and even other media) and leave with them for free? Okay! Great way to discover new authors too. Next ones in my reading pile are : New Waves by Kevin Nguyen and Your Driver is Waiting by Priya Guns.

I’m lucky to live in a neighborhood with a ton of Little Libraries and I use them often! Now whenever I finish a book that I know I won’t reread, I pop it in the Little Library. Declutterring and spreading the joy of reading at the same time! I also sometimes put little things I’m getting rid of in them like notepads, stickers, little accessories. Some people see this as a no-no but I figure that it’s a fun little come up to find. I’ve also found a few really great books in Little Libraries but I try to be choosy with what I take because I already have so many books to read.
