in the future we could be turning to DNA for storage instead and possibly have DNA vaults since they have so much more storage capacity than current technology. scientists have already been able to store The Horse in Motion in bacteria and then replay it with pretty decent quality. edit: added a link to the paper for those interested

realising science is beautiful

wow i recently realised that in scans of cells etc - the cells aren't colourful themselves but it's the process of the fluorescent dyes they use to see the results... here is a pic of some serotonin crystals under a microscope... like how cool and pretty? science is so beautiful
