I use it for everything, anytime I have the urge to pull up the notes app I turn to my notebook instead.

there’s sumn about writing on paper that calms me down and helps me get my thoughts and daily planning more than typing or using notes. i still use the notes app a lot but keeping a planner and journal on paper is an immense help to me.

got a set of pocket sized moleskine cahier journals, one of which i use to write down reminders, small thoughts, test out new pens, doodle, etc etc etc. it has no explicit purpose other than to be a place i can write anything down whenever and wherever. an analog notes app if you will..

I carry around this tiny notebook everywhere I go and just write down any thought worth remembering. It’s helping me stay off my phone. There are pages full of what would’ve been tweets when I was more chronically online.Theres a lot of quotes from books I’m reading or substack articles. Sometimes it’s just lists of tasks like “remember to refill prescription”.

I feel like middle aged or older adults have such a good sense of themselves, at least from an outside perspective. Everyone I know from family to co-worker to teacher who is within this age range is so easy to describe. Their characteristics are easy to point out and their personality is very clear. I feel like this isn't as true for young adults and teens and especially not for kids. Maybe it's because we're open to changing ourselves more and definition hinders our ability to grow. I feel like this is obvious but an observation non the less.

Wanted to share this rather elaborate cake I made that I'm pretty proud of. This is a vanilla sponge and chocolate brownie cake with ganache filling and a hot cross bun gin and tonic buttercream with some cinnamon infused brown butter cookies and tonic sugar shards to boot. The sun hit the sugar perfectly at the time of photographing (:

Sometimes you really just have to stick with your first idea and go for it. I have been rethinking my painting portfolio over and over again when all i wanted to do was paint 😭 Finally I returned to the first paintings I made this year exploring my relationship between my body and intimacy. I don’t really like drawing myself so this is a bit of a challenge.
