You are not alone in your anger, fear and frustration! From the biggest cities to tiny towns, No Kings peaceful protests are happening this Saturday. Please attend one if you possibly can. If you don't go, who will? It might be your last chance to protest the illegal, unconstitutional, antidemocratic and destructive actions of our Republican government, so you should take advantage of the opportunity.

If any of you are attending a protest this weekend here are some things you should be aware of/safety tips - • Saline works better than water/milk for tear gas • You should be hydrating the day before and during the march • Bring goggles (with no ventilation) and a face mask • IF YOU ARE IN TEXAS - remember that we are in a red state and there are a lot of people who carry and support ICE, so be mindful of your surroundings and keep it peaceful ! — also be aware that our governor is an asshat who wants us to act out and get arrested to prove a point • If you are undocumented, it may be best to stay home • Carry American flags as well as Mexican/Palestinian • Do not park too close to the site • Leave your phone at home if at all possible - write emergency contacts on your arm • Bring something to cover up tattoos/identifiable marks • Bring a buddy and discuss a quick exit plan if necessary; also discuss a meet up spot if you get separated • WATCH YOUR DISTANCE - as you’ve probably seen already, law enforcement is shooting people with rubber bullets at extremely close range. The closer you are to them, the more likely they are to target you. If you would like to attend a protest, I have added a link to the No Kings website where you can find one closest to your city. (There are an insane amount all over the US and other countries at this point) Please stay safe and cool out there <3

it’s the very least we can do. one of the few things america has gotten right is allowing us to protest the government and that’s exactly what we should be doing right now. there are multiple ways of protesting including going to marches, boycotting, addressing your representatives directly, and voting “uncommitted“ in the upcoming primaries to communicate to the democratic party that they are not acting in the people’s interests and that we will not support biden if he continues to fund this occupation and the deaths of tens of thousands of people. please do your part because you’d want people to do the same if it was you in this situation. i’ve linked a list of upcoming protests around the world. please use it. <3

The occupation persists, the oppression persists, the torture persists. The occupiers are psychotic and their work is never finished. People who’ve paid attention won’t be surprised by this photo from Gaza.

I’m 50, I say because that makes me unusual in this context. I paid [redacted] for a ticket to the Eras Tour after listening to tswift for 3 weeks, and it was worth it. In second grade my teacher gave kids birthday spankings over her knee, and in sixth grade my teacher told my mom I hadn’t blossomed yet. I’m a good friend, mostly to people on the internet. I’m good at conversing with strangers. I’m usually the oldest person at the show but don’t feel like it. I’m good at being helpful. I’m sarcastic and funny and make myself laugh. I’m a good graphic designer and a conscientious driver. I’m a good photographer and I can successfully follow recipes. I don’t use my Peloton enough. I did a lot of caregiving for my mom for several years, and we enjoyed spending time together even if it was mostly in waiting rooms and my car. The fastest I ever ran a mile was eight minutes and six seconds. I drove the same car for 20 years and then replaced it with another one. I enjoy tipping, giving money to people on the street and Disneyland. I am a fan of baseball, Formula 1 racing and the Criterion Channel. I solve about 80% of New York Times crosswords. I take Prozac and Wellbutrin, and take Trazodone to sleep through the night. I wish I had a glassed in solarium so I could sleep in it on rainy nights. I would like to have a pet cat and a garage. I could happily live eating only cereal and fruit. I overshare on the internet and undershare elsewhere. ✌️💛
