This is one of the longest books I’ve read continuously, never feeling disinterested. It had me on hook for all of it and it’s amazing. The ficked up wealthy family‘s journey through the middle of the 20th century, with a breatakingly shocking end told to us right at the beginning. Just a phenomenal work of art.

I finished my third book for this year. It was “The silent patient”. When i tell you i screamed “ WHAT THE FUCK “ once i read the plot at the END! i still have many unanswered questions because it felt incomplete but the manipulation was REAL !

I had to read it for class, so to finish it in time meant blazing through 989 pages in the 7 days of spring break and I do not recommend that pace for this particular book 🫠 That said, it was more interesting (and funny, in places) than I expected. 👀 It’s so thicc and the large cast of characters can be challenging to keep track of, but if you’re into that sort of thing and want to read a Victorian classic that helped establish the detective novel genre, go for it!

I change my lock screens regularly, with different ones set to different focus modes. But this one is my main one this month and it’s an embrace of the weather getting better and my desire to spend more time outside.

Winters are a depressing, polluted sludge in my new city, every day for weeks has just been drab and gray. The first sparks of sunlight hitting me as I just switched to working from home and these good signs are filling me with hope!
