an east end Toronto gem, their tomato noodle soup got me through the winter and now I am friends with the whole team and we hang out my order is: polish breakfast swap meat for veg pierogi, coffee, and a veggie cabbage roll with 12 frozen pierogies to go. then sometimes if I’m feeling really special I will get one of their donuts, specifically the raspberry-filled one.
so many fond childhood memories here, begging to get cookies after day camp at the cathedral of st. john the divine <3 highly recommend going here for a hamantash or a slice of black forest cake and a cup of coffee to write/read/people watch. it gets crazy busy on weekends though
If you’re ever in PDX you need to try Pip’s. Or, like, get someone to ship them to you. These bite sized treats are “more like a cardamom and nutmeg spiced Belgium waffle than a regular doughnut”. Cooked hot to order with flavors of your choosing- today I went to catch some specialty flavors (pistachio cream, prickly pear & yuzu, pancakes) but usually they offer addictive classics like candied bacon, honey & sea salt, or nutella. They’ve got a number of in-house chai and matcha mixes, and best of all, you get a free dozen on your birthday! Always worth the drive!
one of my favourite places in London. the stove looks exactly like my grandma’s, and so does everything it usually holds — a Moka, a clean frying pan, a funky spoon rest. 100% best caff in town!
I made a mini album in 6 days and set a ton of constraints so that I would finish it. it was a life-changing experience to be honest and now I am more at peace !!! it is called Folk Noise to Fall Asleep To and I am happy it exists. where do people listen to music here? this is the Spotify link but I have it on most streaming services so that my parents could listen too (they do not understand SoundCloud and Bandcamp)
I started doing this when I was 30. there is always something interesting born from these images. years from now, I will step away, far enough away to see a pattern emerge from the chaos.
