big bubbly graffiti, a city that operates hand-in-hand with the environment so that the skies are never full of smog, rooted in punk and adapted to the neon colors of a brighter future; all of these things are encapsulated by one of my favorite musicians, closest friends, and now — a booming indie artist that i have the pleasure of managing. *faylovett is a jack of all trades, from funky edits to songs that will never leave your brain as much as you wish they would, he embraces and adds onto an aesthetic that is heavily oversaturated and subsequently dimmed in the current era. take the likes of KKB, 2Hollis, even Snail House and you’ve already got an idea of how *faylovett’s sound makes you feel. it’s nostalgic, but not suffocatingly so. it’s like looking at a photograph of you and your partner when you first started dating, part of you misses that fun and colorful youth, yet you find yourself missing — even more — what is yet to come. *faylovett’s latest single “*ssn_or_die” is a track that had me reeling since we first started chatting about its creation: it’s a coming of age story told sonically through whimsical video game-y noise and lyrically from the perspective of a hectic, ridden 22 year old mind. the sound of hope for a future and anxiety collide to provide you with the most impactful track ive heard yet out of *faylovett’s discography. alongside his music, *faylovett’s chronic online-ness and understanding of his personal brand at such a blossoming stage in his career only add to his likeability. it is likely you’ll find a pop culture reference or two scattered about his music, and his youtube/short form content is riddled with it as well. trust me, “get off that f*ckin phone” is a line i’ve had a giggle about way too many times.
and that’s just the magic of *faylovett. he’s the pinnacle of everything right with the internet, and moreover, with the freedom of allowing anyone to create content shared to a widespread audience. give “*ssn_or_die” a listen and tell me how you feel !

my friend recommended his song “Carthage” to me a couple years ago and since then, his name’s been on my radar but i never really took the time to properly dive into his discography until tonight. the weather getting cooler here has me craving the lush and warm sonic landscape of guitar music and this album is just what i’ve been looking for. it’s some of the most magical music i’ve heard in a long time…
i also recommend wholeheartedly thanking your friends for music recommendations that you really resonate with, even if you listen to it years after they recommend it, and even if thanking them sounds or seems sappy. recommending music is such a special and sacred thing and i always like to hear when someone connects with something i‘ve sent them, whether i talk to this person every day or once every few years. sharing music is choosing to love and we should spread that love all around, all the time <3

Okay, I just HAVE TO share my thoughts on the new Alex G album… The summer before 8th grade, an internet friend of mine (we met through the fan page I ran for The Garden😭) posted about how much she loved Alex and specifically his song Sandy. I went to Alex’s Bandcamp and started with the first track listed, Joy. I instantly fell in love and listened to his entire discography at the time. I had never heard music like that before, which opened up an entirely new musical world for me. I have an obsessive personality, so as a teen I was biggg fan girl, almost unhealthy… I wanted to know everything about him, gather all the lore, read every interview, and watch every video posted on YouTube (which I successfully did until he gained more recognition). This was before he released Rocket.  I joined an Alex discord server and met some of the most important people in my life at the time. No better feeling than bonding with other high schoolers across the country over our love for music! We met each other irl and traveled at least once a year to visit each other. I started a record label with them and met my bff at the time, who I also dated for 5 years. Even though we are not a part of each other's lives anymore, I am forever grateful for those experiences. As a depressed teenager, I really needed them and Alex’s music. I’ve met him about 6 or 7 times and seen him live at least 10 times. I’m proud of his success, totally different vibe than when I discovered him. I understand why people like the music so much! It's the same reasons that appealed to me. Although it will never be the same, I will be a fan until the end of time. My favorite musician of all time, no one compares!!! I feel so happy today :) My top tracks from Headlights: Bounce Boy, Far and Wide, Louisiana, and Spinning, but I love them all!!! I will be listening to this album on repeat. Music Is Awesome And Brings People Together 🥲

I've worked in touring for the past 6ish years (minus the pandemic period) but this is my first time dabbling in the creative side of an artist's album rollout and I'm so proud of what we made.
Along with other tasks (creative and non-creative) not listed I had the pleasure of doing the creative social marketing for this album and I'm so proud of what we accomplised.
The album title is jarring as fuck and if you have no context to Duckwrth or who he is as a person, as well as a someone who's been hurt by a fuckboy (let's be honest who hasn't??) and also just hates men (bc in this day and age who doesn't and if you're a man offended by that you should DEFINITELY look into that) chances are this may not appeal to you.
However what I will say is this. This album is a headfirst dive into an exploration of unhinged and lustful desire, generational curses passed down from family, and the tumultuos journey to self love. All themes and situations we encounter and that make up the human experience. It's a conceptual album that is painfully relatable.
When Duck first played the intro track for me sometime last year, it pissed me off so bad I started shedding some tears. Mostly bc I've related to being the girl that's entertaining a guy who has no respect for me or himself and as time has gone by I can also come to terms that I've been a f•ckgirl at times bc of past traumas etc.
It's no easy feat to make a body of work that airs your shit and your family's shit out as well as publicly come to terms with the fuckery you've done and the pain you've caused to others and put it out into the world for the public to perceive and build their own perceptions or interpretations on your work but Duckwrth has done just that and created a body of work that I hope will ignite conversations between men who are trying to be better regardless of the hand they were dealt and take ownership. I'm so proud of this human for doing that and very grateful to be trusted and brought along on the creative process of this work.
Working with him and his manager X has been fun, stressful (at times), exhausting, and very rewarding. I love these two down and I can't wait to see what comes of this project.
If you have a moment go listen and stream All American F•ckboy. Share your favorite track if you'd like, I'm curious and would love to know :)

halfway into being 19 and i could not recommend it more. it is raunchy, experimental, and isolating to be 19. its the birthing of what i’ve deemed The Second Puberty. it’s a time where the external stressors of adulthood are being thrown at a wall made of saturday morning cartoons and forming a kinship with ladybugs- and expecting it to “act it’s age”. you dress and party and dabble in culture like an established 30-something-year-old, you wait for that guy to respond to your text like a 12 year old waiting for her crush to circle yes on her love note. you will laugh amongst a group of friends over a shared cig who either won’t be your friends in a few years or will grow to tell the tale, you will still ask your mom to go shopping with her so you can get a little treat and a coffee on the way back. 18 is not old enough and 20 is too scary. 19 is the perfect medium. i adore being 19 and i despise being 19. it’s on every end of the spectrum. i couldn’t recommend it more.
