Can I ask you a question? Are you going to the big gig tonight? Some of your favorite bands are playing. Some of your friends bands are playing. I heard there's gonna be an open bar at the big gig. I heard there's gonna be someone going around taking peoples portraits at the big gig. I heard that the big gig catered. Like 100% catered. Like it's a wedding. So if you're going to the big gig, maybe don't eat dinner before hand. I heard there's gonna be really clean drugs at the big gig. I just checked the event page on Facebook (remember FB? the people organizing the big gig do) and it looks like your favorite English teacher from High School will be at the big gig. Looking a little closer here and it also looks like that person you had a crush on in your favorite English teacher's class is going to be there. Don't worry. They didn't learn about the big gig from Facebook. They learned about the big gig from other cool and subcultural channels. Before/after the bands go up, the DJ will be playing some cool music at the big gig. The Strokes. The Tokes. The Hues. The Moody Blues. Muddy Water Band. Rachel and the Rachels. The Hydraulic Blues. The Plums. The Hughs. The Manila Experience. Oh and one more thing. There's kind of a catch. To get an invite to big, you must do one little thing. Just a tiny little thing barely worth mentioning. YOU MUST GIVE UP YOUR SOUL FOR ROCK AND ROLL.

MY FAVORITE COLLECTION

All of these are from seeing the bands play live! I’ve got a few more in my closet, but here are some favorites/ stories (in no particular order)
- Fuming Mouth is fronted by the older brother of a high school classmate, so I got this shirt right when the album dropped! - the Vein.fm shirt was from a benefit concert for the frontman of Fuming Mouth to help treat his leukemia (he has since made a full recovery!!), and it was also the second performance EVER for the band Fleshwater - I got a shirt from them as well, but an ex girlfriend has it - GSY!BE (the green shirt) was the closest I’ve ever gotten to a religious experience at a show, I saw them in an old theater during a thunderstorm, absolutely stunning - I lied, I never saw Mayhem live, but that shirt came from 666 records in Beijing, China - I begged my teacher to let me go there during a high school trip to China I was on, and it was 100% worth it! - The Cryogeyser shirt was from her solo acoustic tour with Karly Hartzman of Wednesday, and the merch guy was Wednesday’s drummer!

Myself and some danish artist

My first concert *period* was a concert I performed in for the summer rock camp I was in. I was 13 and I played bass.
My first concert as a spectator was this Danish pop/rock artist that I went to with my hs girlfriend. I didn't vibe with it very much, which is probably why I can't remember her name.

I’m 50, I say because that makes me unusual in this context. I paid [redacted] for a ticket to the Eras Tour after listening to tswift for 3 weeks, and it was worth it. In second grade my teacher gave kids birthday spankings over her knee, and in sixth grade my teacher told my mom I hadn’t blossomed yet. I’m a good friend, mostly to people on the internet. I’m good at conversing with strangers. I’m usually the oldest person at the show but don’t feel like it. I’m good at being helpful. I’m sarcastic and funny and make myself laugh. I’m a good graphic designer and a conscientious driver. I’m a good photographer and I can successfully follow recipes. I don’t use my Peloton enough. I did a lot of caregiving for my mom for several years, and we enjoyed spending time together even if it was mostly in waiting rooms and my car. The fastest I ever ran a mile was eight minutes and six seconds. I drove the same car for 20 years and then replaced it with another one. I enjoy tipping, giving money to people on the street and Disneyland. I am a fan of baseball, Formula 1 racing and the Criterion Channel. I solve about 80% of New York Times crosswords. I take Prozac and Wellbutrin, and take Trazodone to sleep through the night. I wish I had a glassed in solarium so I could sleep in it on rainy nights. I would like to have a pet cat and a garage. I could happily live eating only cereal and fruit. I overshare on the internet and undershare elsewhere. ✌️💛
