Kind of exciting. Running Daggerheart and there's no real setting other than fantasy where there was once old gods, now there's new gods, and there's a bunch of fanciful species of sentient people and unique backgrounds. Riding that edge of using tropes and giving them twists to help lead to a bigger story hopefully.
But that's the fun of playing a table top pen and dice game with friends right? They're collaborators. Making them part of the making of the world seems to be a good device to keep them from wanting to break it as players. Now breaking it as characters - I live for that. That yes, and BOOM
Anyway, here's the blank map I'm gonna use (even tho I got it down to a few megs it doesn't wanna post). Borrowed some bits from older Final Fantasy world maps and stuff lingering around Inkarnate. Made any game worlds you wanna share? I still need a lot of inspiration.
I've been into D&D since middle school and I have this fantasy world/campaign concept I go back to and work on sometimes when I'm stressed and need a break. Idk if I'll ever run it in a game because it's turned into something kinda niche and overly complicated, but maybe at some point I'll just fully commit and write a story based on it haha
My first post won't be evergreen. This week's just been chaos. Personally, nationally, globally. No need to use words for what's known.
In the TTRPG space there have been shake ups as well. Namely Wizards of the Coast releasing long time D&D employees. Daggerheart welcoming some of those creative folk into their fledgeling endeavor. It's a monsterous fledge tho let's be real.
I see more excitement there. My niche of a niche hobby needed a little chaos. It feels hopeful in many ways to me. Sometimes soil needs tilled.
I don't care for how digital my paper and dice games are going to be soon. But I understand production and global economics and ignorant politics more than most. I'll deal with it.
How's about yourself(ves)?
But there was a guy at a factory job I had who kept quiet. He'd sit with use loud folk and didn't say much for 2 years. We brought up flat earth, big foot, and the like. He chimed in finally "Only one I believe is that superior procreation is achieved via anal"
That's not an exact quote... But yeah we had him explain more. That stronger and more intelligent humans are conceived in a way the government and clergy are against. Because the normal way makes more compliant citizens.
We were wilding at how serious he was.
The barbarians that sacked Rome... Butt babies.
I didn't go into biology with him. I left the job shortly after. Not cuz of this.
I'm not a conventionally handsome or even good looking guy. lol I can admit it I'm comfortable being me. Mostly cuz years ago a well dressed older pretty lady with a thick Tennesse accent said "Boy, the girls that know are gonna eat you up."
That Appalachian witch cursed me with the best of luck that day.
