Yesterday, I was scrolling on Youtube as usual (I love Youtube) and I came across a video that said āGoodbye, 2006ā. It just popped up randomly and I figured Iād watch it. It was literally someoneās slideshow of their year. I love finding peopleās digital time capsules on Youtube.
Yāknow, like comfort media. The kind of thing you find yourself coming back to every year. Maybe itās nostalgia, maybe youāre sentimental, or maybe itās just good for a laugh.
I came across this again the other night, after not seeing it for a few months. Was reminded that Iāve been watching it sporadically every year for half a decade now. The algorithm seems to send it to me a couple times a year and every time it does, Iām reminded of how much I love it. Maybe itās the atmosphere. the first 4 minutes of birds chirping. the greens and blues that radiate off the screen. Maybe itās just the music. But everytime, without failure, it makes me hopeful. Optimistic about everything still coming. Do you have one? I canāt be alone here. share it, if you do. Iād love to watch it and hear about what makes it special to you :)
best feature - iāve been adding stuff to Watch Later for 13 years. YT only lets you save 5000 videos so once I hit the limit, Iāll hit shuffle and watch for an hour and then either remove vids from the playlist or categorize them and add emā to a new playlist. itās a fun trip down memory lane to see what i was into throughout time. three things i watched on the last spin of the roulette: outkast performing at the 2004 NBA All-Star Game random 3 second reaction video titled āI was likeā a dude who remade The Simpsons Hit and Run video game
I be ignoring them and they keep on getting recommended for days and it's kinda funny cause on one hand i know it's mostly clickbait, but a part of me thinks "oh what if it actually is meant to find me rn?" But then I proceed to ignore it lol
Since Iām new here, I figured Iād introduce myself. Iām a 22 year old alt, lesbian artist. Iāve been making art since I was about 8 and I just never stopped. I downloaded this app due to my sheer obsession with the early 00s. I just wish I could be an adult in 2003 instead of an infant just for a day. Hereās some of my art :)
I am a CD kid. I was raised that way and I love flipping through a book of CDS. My car is from 2014 and it reignited my love of CDs. I do collect vinyls too but I donāt use them as much as I use CDs though.
No question about it. Ryan Coogler and Ludwig Gƶransson never fail together. The scenes were captivating and will be shown in film classes from now on. The music fits the narrative so well but also stands on its own with no problem. 5 stars and a forever rewatch!
