I’d been trying to eat less sugar for over a year, just wanted to feel a bit better, have more energy, maybe help my skin. But every time I tried, I’d end up eating sweets again the moment I felt stressed or overwhelmed Only recently something actually clicked. Now I just have, like, one cheesecake with a cappuccino a week. And weirdly — that’s enough. My skin really did get better, but more than that, I realized I used to eat sugar to distract myself from how I felt. Like I was trying to create a sense of joy instead of actually feeling it. Now I have to find real ways to comfort myself (it was pretty hard at first tbh). And the funny thing is — when I’m feeling okay, I don’t even want sugar that much. I look at something sweet and think that I don’t really want it now

As my cousin Ronnie would jokingly say at family reunions, I’m on the seafood diet—I see food, I eat it!!
I have historically had a problem with overeating snacks and if I buy chips it’s really easy for me to eat them all in one sitting. I embrace an ingredients household mindset and try to only buy whole foods based snacks like cheese, nuts, etc that are so boring and wholesome they’re kind of hard to eat too much of them.
Demonic food scientists and executives at corporate conglomerate food manufacturers, many of whom worked at cigarette companies in the past, have engineered hyper processed foods to be optimally addictive. I replace the chips I used to be addicted to with alternative snacks that use better ingredients and typically come in much smaller bags—I have yet to find my methadone for my drug of choice, HOT CHEETOS because I’m OPPRESSED and the bougie snack industry evidently doesn’t care about MY NEEDS—and I portion them out into bowls when I eat them then put the bag away.
If you have some kind of an Uber Eats/Doordash problem then delete those apps because it’s too easy to just summon whatever you want whenever you want, on a whim. Make it so if you want to get food you have to go out and work for it. Add friction to counterbalance your impulsive nature! And when you eat, eat mindfully and slowly.
Also if you’re regularly craving certain foods I hear that it can have something to do with nutritional imbalance so be mindful of that…

When watching, you can notice a number of references (including to the works of Quentin Tarantino), but this doesn’t make the plot any less unique, quite the contrary, I would call Akudama Drive a fairly memorable anime with dynamic narration and animation. Violent and dark at times, but still worth watching and recommending. I can confidently say that this anime is one of my favourites ✨✨

It’s not about copying his exact routine. You don’t have to clean public toilets or listen to cassette tapes. That’s not the point.
The point is to find your own routine — something simple that actually feels good to you. Even if it seems weird or ā€œunproductiveā€ And just repeat it for a week or longer, if you want
This isn’t about being boring, it’s about having something small and grounding in your day. Something that keeps you present. Maybe it’s a glass of chia water in the morning and a walk to the store. Maybe it’s making the same breakfast every day, or putting your phone away. Whatever it is — if it makes you feel alive, it’s worth it.
I’ve been living like this for more than a month now, just showing up for my own life (saying no to sugar also helps with that, ILL WRITE ABOUT THIS IN MY NEXT REC). And honestly, it’s the thing that makes you feel like YOU CAN SURVIVE TODAY AND TOMORROW AND ANY OTHER DAY just because you have something familiar in your day — YOUR ROUTINE!
When you’re doing these small things alone: no distractions, no noise — something shifts. You start to feel more in tune with yourself. You’re not driven by fear, or wants, or ambition (like you usually do). You’re just there. And in that moment, you finally get the time to just think about yourself, your life !with no pressure! And that changes everything SO TRY THIS!!
