this skirt hit the floor on me which is wild because i’m quite tall and today i took scissors to it instead of properly hemming it, a thing i dont know how to do, and it’s raggedy and uneven on the edge but yknow what? my full range of motion is restored and i think it’s cuter now
turn ur mini dresses into skirts! turn ur maxi dress into tops! pin your clothes! wear them the ‘wrong‘ way! clothing has no solid rules and experimenting with how they can be worn will scratch that lil itch you have when you feel like you have NOTHING. you’ll get way more use out of your closet!! currently wearing a maxi dress folded up into a top, ive also turn into into a mini dress and maxi skirt- why buy more when I have a solid piece that can turn into 4 different silhouettes and all it takes is a lil shifting and possibly a pin or two
It’s spring and the ultra-short skirt/crop top trend is about to pop off. But before you take your kitchen scissors to your wife beaters Julia Fox-style cop a pair of Gingher shears. They’re heavy and sexy and silver and used by people who actually know how to make clothes. I’ve been “customizing” my wardrobe for years but it’s only recently that my raw hem skirts and sweaters aren’t totally jagged and wonky. It’s called maturity, girls.
i notice my bottom layer mobility mostly at work (server) or at the bar (dancer). i recently wore this mid length pleated skirt both to work and The Buckingham, made possible by the baby tee i had shoved in my purse, and i felt limitless. i wear skirts to work but usually they’re kind of tight and short so i have to wear shorts but i was full panty mode and could still do a deep lunge in these and i’ve never felt more alive i coukdnt shut up about it and all my dance moves involved a lot of kicking!
i struggle sometimes to make myself clean when tired, sad, etc - enter one clorox wipe. no matter how low you feel or how big the mess it will always be an improvement to just take ten measly seconds and run one clorox wipe over the counter, or the sink, or your nightstand. one clorox wipe sometimes gives me the get-up-and-go for more tasks, but even if it doesn’t it always at least leaves things a little better than before
