I'm simply from LA and will always give supplements a chance, and after years of experimenting not so dedicatedly with some combos, I have found one that may be placebo'ing me but may literally be fixing my mental health: L-theanine + 5HTP run dont walk

this was partially my first rec. It’s the supplements (and now medication) I take in the morning, and now into the afternoon and evening. it’s my elixir that keeps me calm+energized, somehow. Elixir: Morning: L-theanine first. 5-HTP after breakfast, along with biotin for hair growth and, finally, between days 14-28 of my menstrual cycle: fluoxetine. (For pms if that isn’t clear) Afternoon; magnesium citrate gummy (two) that i got from the grocery store near my house. The only other place I found them was at erewhon?? So obvi had to cop if not just for the reminder of home (lol). Evening: hour before bed I take a magnesium pill. it gets me sooo ready for sleep. Sometimes I just do this but other times I’ll also take two valerian capsules, which help a lot with sleep but it doesn’t have melatonin in it which is ideal. This may seem crazy/a lot but that’s what post grad life is like babe 😆😆 , and it’s helping w this transition 🙈🙈

supplements that are designed for cellular communication have actually been very kind to me mind and body wise I really like ALA + ALCAR together abd also NAC - for some reasons these just seem like miracle vitamin pills that make you not tired or sad or distracted (this isn’t medical advice)

Consult with your pharmaceutical-contract-addled doctor first, but 2400 mg a day has increased my baseline calm level. Jarrow Formulas powder form is what I'd recommend

after having an ovarian cyst for a while and finding out 4 months later that THATS why I was feeling deranged and horrible all the time I can’t get this thought (truth) out of my head — hormones are kind of everything! period cycles interest me so much now in a way they didn’t before bc I can clearly see the effects of them on our psyches/energy. for example I can always tell when a friend of mine is ovulating or PMSing. now I’m 24/7 yapping about menstruation/women’s health to all my friends.. or anyone who will listen really. mind-body connection fr fr OUT: thinking that asking about periods is rude; men Tiptoeing around the subject of periods; discounting what hormones do to our bodies and minds !!!!

I liked finding out that this is a word/thing cuz I totally relate. I just love (going to or hosting) events (apartment housewarmings, dj sets, dinners, breakfasts, movie nights, whatever it may be..). if it's a thing that's happening and I'm with/inviting friends, it's An Event idc!

By just having some time to myself to smoke a j alone and vibe in my room. Have not done this in years, didn’t smoke for a while either (classic reasons, anxiety etc) but it’s been fun to see myself as more grown up since I last did this. kind of feels like convening with a past self and being like - yes life is weird but that means that anything goes and that’s great, I’m having fun 🫶🤷‍♀️
