i saw this irl last time i was in nyc. im a blue clown and have a habit of putting my hand on my neck like in the painting. now i have a postcard of it on my fridge to remind myself to stop touching my neck
Honoré Daumier was a badass realist and his moody paintings seem to be not so known as his caricature work — this canvas is only about 4x6in but it arrested me completely! @ the Barnes Foundation in PHL
A couple years ago I discovered Dalí’s painting of Hermes and was obsessed with it. Recently stumbled over this painting of Medusa and I’m similarly enthralled.
