I love love love this story and the way the author explored the topics of gender roles/relationships, womenโ€™s bodies, and loneliness. such an intimate book and I love her writing style, wish I could emulate that sort of intimacy in my writing too!!!!

By Keiko Kawakami 221 pages, its about a girl struggling with loneliness and mental health issues. It touches on issues of alcoholism. Its sosoososo good!!! Its not plot heavy, it may seem boring to people since not a lot happens during it. It focuses more on her and her lonliness, but its one of my favorites!!

The best work of fiction (inspired by truth) that Iโ€™ve ever read. Yuzuki writes with such nuance x rhythm, against a backdrop of absurdity, womanhood, and FOOD. Dream. Thereโ€™s some sort of pendulum of truth and lies that speaks to the human experience so masterfully.
